RESOURCES for INDEPENDENCE Central Valley, (RICV), was established in 1976 to empower the independence of people with disabilities in Fresno, Kings, Madera, Merced, and Tulare Counties. RICV offers the guidance and tools to assist persons with disabilities in achieving their own vision of what independence means for them.

As a hub for independent living services and disability resources, RICV provides a foundation of core consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability and person-focused programs and assistance. Our programs and services offer expanded choices, opportunities and  options—empowering persons with disabilities to live independently and be in control of their lives.

RICV helps people get the skills necessary to become self-advocates so they can enjoy life and work in their community. With a strong base of education, leadership and community partnerships, we advocate for inclusive communities where people with disabilities are valued equally and can participate fully.
